Desiccator Cabinets
When come to desiccators cabinets selection, one must choose a company which provides the full range of cleanroom design, static charges free which is most suitable for manufacturing sector and laboratory research. Here, the main objective is control humidity, eliminates particles in the air, remove static charges on the products during the storage.
Different sizes, shapes for adjustable positioning of the trays or shelves are available in the market, this makes the storage more flexible to store any height and length of the products. Some equipped with gas purge control and support caster stands.
For an ideal and optimum storage purpose of a desicator cabinet, one should have the following
i) Flow Meter (from top of the desiccators cabinet system)
ii) Gas Input Port
iii) Specially formed doors to increase gasket life
iv) Plenum Wall
v) Stainless Steel Bottom Plate
vi) Grounded Door Latches
vii) Multi-position Shelf Rack
viii) Pressure Relief Valve
ix) Closed Cell Foam Gaskets
x) Stainless Steel Tray
xi) Removable Rear Panel
xii) Locking Casters and
xiii) Stand, Powder Coated or Stainless Steel bottom layer

Some of the major problems encounter when storing the integrated circuits and other sensitive devices, such as corrosion, contamination, ESD damage and moisture. When those sensitive products being stored in the manufacturing environment without proper care, it will lead to corrosion and oxidation when they are exposed in the atmosphere with the contaminants. The end results are poorer solder contact and board failure. When moisture absorbed into the packaging, it will cause more excessive failures especially during the process of solder reflow heating. In addition, these sensitive devices also hidden the ESD dangers if not handle properly.
Therefore the basic need of the desiccator cabinet is providing moisture free, absolutely clean mini-cleanroom environment which was isolated from the warehouse site or any nearby manufacturing environment. One of the way to control the moisture and contaminants in the air trapped inside the enclosures is pumping the nitrogen or compressed dry air into the enclosures. In this way, all the contaminated air will be replaced and the consistent flow of the nitrogen will ensure to provide an ideal eco-system to the devices and components well kept. At the same time, as the moisture levels decease, the tendency of ESD damage may occur. So the stainless steel trays with the bottom plates come into the play where both are electrically grounded for any negative charges.
