Silica complex
Silica is a naturally occurring non-metallic element, also known as silicon. It is a component of certain bodily polysaccharide structures such as joints, hair, skin, and nails. Most of the silica in our diet is lost through refining processes whereby the fibrous, high silicon part of the plant foodstuffs is removed. A recent research study, conducted in Finland, demonstrated that silica supplementation can significantly improve the quality and appearance of hair, skin and nails. In this 90 day study, half of the subjects with thin or brittle hair reported a complete improvement in their condition, half of those with brittle nails reported a significant improvement, and a majority of the subjects with aged skin showed an increase in dermal thickness and appearance.
Silica is a mineral which can enhance the effectiveness of other joint health supplements including glucosamine and chondroitin sulphates, as well as calcium-magnesium. Research into Silica has shown that it is this mineral. It regulates how calcium is deposited, cross-links with glucosamine to form joint cartilage, connects chondroitin sulfates to make up joint & connective tissue, and activates the enzymes that produce cartilage. Silica activates the enzymes that produce collagen, elastic for healthy skin, beautiful hair and strong nails.
Silica may be helpful for improving the appearance of ageing skin, strengthening thinning, weak hair and nails and minor skin problems and defects. The Silica in Silica Complex is derived from Horsetail Extract and is thoroughly screened for potency and purity. Silica is completed with these other synergistic ingredients Oat straw (Avenal sativa) helps build healthy bones, skin, hair and nails, Calcium is the mineral for strong teeth, bones and nails, Boron maintains healthy bones and has a strong affinity to calcium and magnesium. Essential for weak thinning hair, Zinc is needed by the tissue of the hair, nails and skin, Manganese helps bone growth and stimulates growth of the connective tissue and Bentonite Mineral Powder is a rich source of trace minerals.
